About

We live in a world where massive corporations don't give a shit about their customers anymore. Data breaches hand bad actors millions of people's sensitive data every year. Your TV is recording everything you say. Websites bombard you with ads and trackers that slow down your devices. Your hardware is designed to fail so that you have to throw it away and buy a new one. Your printer has to be shipped back to the manufacturer for a $600 fix that would have cost you $5 to do at home. We are all getting fucked by Apple, Amazon, Meta, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, and thousands of other shitty companies.

VacaSound was created in 2018. Our mission is to usurp Big Tech's stranglehold on the internet by providing resources and services for replacing predatory, expensive subscriptions with efficient, extensible, and enjoyable self-hosting solutions. The internet should be in the hands of the people, not trillion dollar companies. It's time to wake up and do something about it.

Infrastructure

You do not need advanced hardware to start your own homelab. Old tech can be recycled to run as a headless server. This keeps e-waste out of the environment, and you gain your own private server without spending a dime!

Services

We host many open-source alternatives to popular sofware services. Our public services allow account creation or demos. Private services are reserved for VacaSound use only. You can request an account for any public or private service by emailing web@vacasound.com. You can find a list of what we have to offer on our services page.
